Hey everyone,

I have an external bluray player that I've been using since around Christmas I'd say. I took it with me to a friends place this weekend, plugged it back into my pc today, got the noise that something new is connected but I no longer see the drive anywhere.

Nothing in My Computer, or Device Manager.

I'm running Win7 and as of right now, I haven't a clue whats going on. I've scanned for new hardware, I'm unable to find it anywhere but if I plug it into various USB ports it always lets me know something new is plugged in. Need to install something and its driving me crazy!

Solution
So, still fighting with this. Went back into Device Manager and under USB Controllers, my BluRay player seems to be showing up as, "USB Mass Storage Device." So I tried to do a device update, nothing, uninstalled it, restarted the pc and get the message, installing new hardware.

But, after its all said and done, I get,

Your device is ready to use.

and lists the following....

Cypress Semi USB Device
USB Mass Storage Device
Cypress Semi USB Device

All three are ready to use....except, I have no clue what those Cypress Semi USB Devices are!

So that's where I'm sitting with this. In frustration, I ate a very unhealthy chocolate brownie, for breakfast..
