I want to remove everything and completely reinstall Windows 8 but when i got to the recovery and reinstall in the pc settings a message comes up saying "Insert Media. Some files are missing. Your Windows installation or recovery media will provide these files."

Solution

Did you accept the upgrade to 8.1?
If so, chances are your Recovery Partition was corrupted by the upgrade. (Common problem, shame on M'soft!)

You may get away with borrowing a Windows 8 Installation disk, but the safest option is to obtain Recovery Media from the Manufacturer. (You may have to do so via Best Buy)
The problem could have been avoided by creating your own Recovery Media as invited when you purchased the PC. (most don't!)

Well the laptop is from Best Buy, Asus G75VX BHIN711. And I don't know... sorry. Kinda why I'm asking I don't know where the recovery software is. Didn't come with any and thats the message I get when I go through the recovery and reinstall.
