I have the PS3 connected to my monitor through HDMI, but my monitor doesn't have an audio jack or speakers.

My PC has a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ity sound card with Aux line-in ports on the front panel.

I have the PS3 set to Av-Multi for the sound, the Aux cables plugged into the sound card, and my headphones plugged in to the sound card as well for audio out. For some reason though, I can't get it to work. I can hear static from the Aux cables through my headphones when I switch the sound card to gaming mode (but not any other mode), and I have the sound card speakers set as default audio out in the audio control panel.

Also, my PC is running Windows 7 Ultimate, and the drivers for the sound card are all up to date.

Is there something I'm missing? Thanks!

Please ensure that your fp mic(I think that is what they call it) is not muted under playback in the creative software.

Here is what it looks like on my card.

It is recommended to actually use the rear flexijack if you can. Using a mic as a line in may cause distortion in some cases and also happens to have ~5 volts on it many times as well.
