Hi I had my computer built about two weeks ago and it was working great. Two days ago the fans stopped spinning and it obviously overheated. It shut itself off a few seconds later to protect itself. I let it cool down and turned it on a couple of hours later with the fans spinning, and it stayed on until I shut it off with no problems. Then it didn't work yesterday morning it just made a clicking noise and it tried to turn on, the power button was lit up on the case, but the fans weren't spinning. Then that same night it ran fine for hours until I shut it off. This morning it didn't work again. I was wondering what some possible issues were.
The fans seem to work fine when they turn on. The pins the fans plug into are not bent or anything.I thought maybe it was just dusty. If the motherboard was broken wouldn't the fans never work? I mean sometimes it works perfectly. Any ideas would be appreciated, even the not so common ones. Is it possible it's a software issue and not a hardware one?
I'm talking about a case fan and my heatsink fan to clarify.
