Which is better for a single card setup, I'm looking at the GTX 770 but I don't know which one and this will govern my decision.

cheers

More about : blower fan axial fans

None are BETTER as such, just have different properties.

Most axial fans(blowers) tend to push the heat out of the case. Now they tend to be louder and run hotter(its a lot of restriction to push air all the way out the back of the case). They are great for cases that have less than ideal air flow(dumping and extra 230 watts in heat into such a case would heat everything up).

Coolers with normal fans tend to use a heatsink/fan setup that leaves the heat in the case. If you have good air flow this is not an issue at all. These types of coolers tend to be more quiet and run cooler in many cases.

Blower (a.k.a. reference) card is almost always worse than one with an aftermarket cooler (usually 2 or more fans).
The only exceptions are:
1. Water cooling (most blocks are made to fit the reference cards).
2. SLI in a small case since they will be blowing air out of the back = better airflow.

So I would recommend going with a card with "Axial fans" if this is what you meant by it (sorry, English is not my 1st language so I'm not common with the term):

Always happy to help :)

Asus and MSI are both great brands; You really can't go wrong with either.
