Hey guys,
I was reliably informed by people on this website that Kingston HyperX black 8GB 1600 mhz would be compatible with my Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 despite it not vendor list in the manual, I was told it should work. However, after building the PC today, I have discovered that the motherboard is refusing to recognise the ram. I can't even get to the BIOS. I know it's unlikely, but... Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Aside from buying new ram? It's a single 8gb stick, and the speaker beeps one long and two short. Indicating a ram issue. The ram is firmly in place and I have tried all the channels. All help is appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Steven

Solution
Yeah, by trying to boot a computer with a faulty RAM stick and the computer not booting.

But to definitively tell, you have to have a known working RAM stick to verify.

Could be in a bit of trouble then. Bought the ram off a guy who genuinely thought it just didn't work with his motherboard and sold it to me for a reasonable price. I have the manufacturers warranty, but they might want a proof of purchase that it wasn't sold on...
