Is this a bit of overkill for ram?
And would it run stable at these speeds?

G.Skill TridentX 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 PC3-19200 2400MHz Quad Channel Kit 2400MHz RAM Speed, CAS 10-12-12-31, 1.65v VDIMM, XMP,

I am not a gamer but I need it for lots of VM work.

It's either this or a 32GB Corsair 2133Mhz 11CAS kit.

The G.Skill is coming in cheaper that a Corsair 2133Mhz 10 CAS.

Thanks

The CPU's memory controller is always the limiting factor. I would certainly get the cheaper G.Skills, even if you can't run them at rated speed.

Dave, over at TPU is the man to ask though. He is the memory and mobo reviewer and just did a review with some TridentX 32GB 1600CL7, and overclocked them to 2400CL10.

I purchased them, and they should come fairly soon.

I added the following to my order.

Intel Core i5 4670K, S 1150,
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H, Intel Z97

G.Skill added the GB board on their QVL. So I'm hoping that everything works as intended.
