Watch Dogs lag spikes

Hi! So I got this problem in Watch Dogs, where I, whilst turning around and discovering new ares and what not, get lag spikes. Massive ones - the faster I turn, the worse they are.

Specs: R9 270x - 2GB
HDD: crappy Hitachi 5400rpm 3gb/s
8 GB ram
FX-6100 oc/d 4.4

Yes, I do have the latest 14.6 drivers.
Afaik it's the textures, which even set to medium (which require 2GB - the amount of memory my GPU has), it still lags like this. But, they seem to go away on the lowest texture res, which only requires 1 GB.

I want to know if my really bad hard drive has anything to do with this, or it's just my graphics card.

TBH its probably really neither, it is a day one release and a very rocky one on PC especially, and I suspect fairly poorly optimized. Also, your CPU is not the best one out either, so when it is loading huge new areas it has to work very hard on that regard. I wouldn't worry about it until new patches for the game are released, but keep an eye on it. It COULD be the hard drive, but I doubt it fairly highly, they don't play too much in game performance.

A good lesson to learn is never buy a game on day one, especially on PC. It could run very poorly, and if you wait, you will likely get it for much cheaper. *ahem Steam sales ahem*
