Am I being bamboozled?

If this is a gaming build where GPU is most important I would opt for this build:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/8QyMwP

Used an FX-8320 instead to get a r9-280 card, 650w psu for the more power hungry card, windowd corsair case.
Also this is staright price, no mail in rebates.

b]CPU:[/b] AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor ($134.99 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme3 ATX AM3+/AM3 Motherboard ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($64.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Dual-X Video Card ($269.99 @ Amazon)
Case:...
Generally those super combos give you a crap psu, or crap memroy.
They then quote you at the retail price which it is almost never at.

In this case the only thing that is lower quality then desired is the case.
Let me price out a build and see what it comes out to.
I will also try with an 8320 cpu as that will be plenty to not bottleneck the gpu you are looking at.

FYI the 750w is overkill if you do not plan on crossfire

I don't see any trap. Looks like a good machine. You might do better (money-wise) though if you hunt and pick through various 'sales' and go to numerous sites to get the best deal. But it all depends on what your time is worth to you.

Boosted1g's build blows the Newegg combo out of the water. Much better selection for ~same price.
Like I said above, you can do better, but you will have to shop around and pick and choose... or have a helpful person like boosted1g to do it for you ;-)
