Hi,
I have a i5 3570k OC to 4Ghz, 8Gb RAM, and an MSI GTX770.
When i'm playing watch dogs on ultra i have like 45-55 fps. But then I get fps crashes and my screen just freezes for a sec or 2. Even with the AA options of and all the quality settings at medium. This also happens on bf4.
Thanks

Check for video driver updates for your card. I know this morning EVGA put out a driver update specifically for Watch Dogs.

I have the same problem and the same specs as the op apart from my gtx770 is the windforce 3 model, have updated to the latest nvidia drivers that were supposed to fix all this but it hasnt really helped. My game pretty much plays fine but then freezes for a couple of seconds very frequently, so much so it is almost unplayable, I get the same problem even with everything on medium settings. Any help appreciated!

Watchdogs is just a terribly programmed game. The code is very inefficient and while a mid-level gpu should be able to run it at max settings with a good framerate, the games terrible coding brings GTX780s to their knees. Maybe ubisoft is working on cleaning it up, but only time will tell.

Ubisoft is working on a patch!

You were telling everybody in another thread that a 770 is enough to get an average of 60 fps on ultra.

I'm glad you realized that even a 780 can't provide smooth gaming experience when driving a vehicle in the game.

This game is also putting my 780 ti and Titan blacks to it's knee's but I'm sure in time this issue will be resolved.

The Game does look great and is fun to play however I'm going to wait until the patch is released to play again because I don't like the occasional stuttering/hitching when driving.

Funnily enough my problem was fixed because I went to remove the OC on my cpu like mr91 suggested and noticed that my cpu usage was full on stuck at 100%, some download manager/malware that had snuck by my scanners was eating away at my pc. Removed that and now I can play with everything on ultra and no problems! I don't know how long this has been going on for but I guess i never noticed while playing other games because they arnt as demanding/poorly optimised as watchdogs.

I put ultra textures with my 760 and was getting 40-50 fps and around the same with high textures and everything else maxed out but theres these crazy fps drops I turned of depth of field and put AA to fxaa but the fps drops are still there

It can, when the problem with a game is crappy code, it won't matter if you have a titan black or a 550, they will both have trouble with it. The graphical quality of the game itself isn't the limiting factor with this game. So once the code is fixed, almost anyone should be able to run it. The benchmarks don't show this as much because they are not testing the worst coded parts of the game, they are testing the normal mix of stuff in the game. If it was all driving, the max fps for any system would be around 30, haha.

with all theres is to read on this game and all these issues with it looks like a poorly written
Code:
beta too early to be released we just grab some money and then we will try to work on it game thing wile most everyone struggles to get it to work at any playable level..

hay , maybe this time next year it will all be straightened out and fully playable for all who run it ??
