Hi there,

I purchased an r9 270 several months ago.

My specs are

AMD Phenom Quard Core 2.2ghz processor, 4 GB ram ddr2

The problem I'm having is that there seems to be a slightly fuzzy display on my monitor when playing games. I notice this when I play counter strike Global offensive or Battlefield 4.

The monitor I have is an HP2159v.(The non HDMI version)

I've tried using two different monitors, one is an old dell 1280 x 1024 monitor and also my TV which is HDMI 1080dp.

If I use an HDMI cable in the TV (this is the only monitor I have that can use HDMI) then the display is clear and there is no fuzzy display at all.

So there has to be something wrong with the VGA connection. I've tried a different VGA cable today as I picked one up from work but again the problem is still there.

The only thing I can think of is either the DVI to VGA connector that I have is damaged, or the DVI port on the graphics card is damaged.

Surely if it was a driver issue it would still be a fuzzy display when using the HDMI cable? In addition I've formatted my PC since and reinstalled the drivers and the problem still exists

If someone could please offer some advice that would be very much appreciated.

Maybe I should speak to Scan where I bought the card from?

I think they will replace the card if they think it's faulty?

Scan have confirmed they could replace the card.

They said they would be surprised though if this was the problem.

Can someone offer any advice?

It is an odd issue.

it could be the adapter or port on the card. Relatively speaking vga is going to be less sharp then hdmi obviously.
