Which would benefit gaming more?

I have a NVIDIA GT 520 GPU and 4gig of RAM but the new watch dogs game and most new games say 6gig minimum so should I buy more ram?a better gpu or both?

Both. 520 is very old and 4 gigs will just do OS and very very few games will run. What is your budget and other current hardware?

my processor is AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 630 4CPUs 2.8GHz and I dont know exactly my power supply but I know it is sufficient I recently bought it maybe 2 months ago and my budget is whatever I need it to be really just I dont wanna spend over 500$. I will be upgrading my RAM to 6 or 8 gig but mainly I need to figure out what GPU I should get I will want to achieve medium graphics nothing too fancy but enough to sustain me for a while

660 or 760 from Nvidia will be good. If you like AMD, the r9 280x is for about 300 right now.

If I were to want to look into AMD graphics which would be the best for my budget and last me the longest, I know the NVIDIA graphics line but not AMD would the Sapphire R9 270 be good?also what exactly would I buy if I wanted to add say 6gb of ram

Sapphire has terrible customer support and their GPU's are below par now a days.
Here is a much more powerful r9 280x from MSI.

Also Just get 8 gigs and if possible, add that to the 4. If not, just replace it. G Skill, Kingston, and Corsair are some trusted brands.

I took a look around and figured I would buy a Corsair Vengeance 8GB but I may end up buying a completely new pc because my pc is old as it is so I may get a new pc and set it up to last long with good hardware thank you for all the help
