Nightmare! :-( I've just bought a Samsung EVO 250GB SSD for my ageing HP DC5800. The samsung tools complain that AHCI mode is not enabled but having researched this. I've found that HP don't support it in the BIOS for this series of machines.
So I am I panicking about something that will cause a minor hit or will it make my new SSD run no faster than the hard drive it replaces?
Plan B: Can anyone suggest an inexpensive card that will work in an old PCI-e x16 slot and give me at least 2 lanes?
