Hi every one i was wondering if i could get some classification on ram latency.

I have read on many posts that the lower the latency the better, i was looking at getting some Kingston hyper x fury 1866Mhz but it is CL10 which from what i can tell is really high, but yet i see a lot of people say they have corsair vengeance ram which is still CL9.

So my question is is they really a big difference? and should i go for as low as i can find?

------------Edit-----------
the ram is going to be used for gaming and i am getting a 8GB single stick for now and i am going to get another 8GB stick when i get paid next month to make it 16GB all together.

lower is better but you really wont notice much of a difference. biggest thing is to make sure your motherboard supports the freq (your case your looking for 1866mhz) with that CL of the ram your buying.

Usually Higher Cl are more relaxed timings so are more compatible but **always find out what timings your motherboard supports before buying.

**Don't forget you also want the timings to match the ram that's already in the system for better performance if your adding and not replacing.

Hi thanks for your reply i am doing a new system build i am getting the msi Z97-G45 (which i will be ordering in the next few hours) which says it supports up to 3000Mhz memory so the 1866Mhz should be fine with it,

so what ever ram i put in my system has to be the same frequency i cant mix and match? also can i put 2gb stick with a 4gb stick? also can i mix and match ddr3 with ddr2?

sorry for the questions above its something i am not sure about, it is only for knowledge sake i am not going to mix and match any way, i was just wondering.
