Problems with Battlefield 4 Framerate

I have an AMD A10-7850K APU, XFX R7 260X 2 GB, 8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM, and the Catalyst 14.6 Beta Driver. In Battlefield 4 on Medium settings @ 1080p, using Direct3D 11, I get 25 - 45 FPS in multiplayer. Huh? Have I overestimated the power of this APU? Or have I overestimated the power of my GPU? I have seen other people get 30 - 40 FPS on Ultra settings with the R7 260X, albeit using an AMD FX-8350.
Using Mantle I get 25 - 65 FPS on Medium settings, except there is a lot of stuttering every now and then. What's going on here? Am I running out of VRAM? All I want to be able to do is play on Medium settings (or higher) and keep a constant 45 - 60 FPS.
Any possible solutions and comments are welcome.

What power supply do you have? I've experienced a very high increase in performance when i changed my power supply, i had a 400W Fortron which was very good but not enough for my system and now i got a 750W one to have enough power in case of an upgrade, i honestly think i gained minimum 10 extra FPS in all the games i had installed on my PC. For example Metro Last Light was unplayable due to very low FPS and now it's working smooth even on full settings.

I have a SeaSonic 450W 80+ Gold. The R7 260X "requires" a 500W or higher PSU, however on other games I can play them perfectly fine with no lag, etc.

It's strange then. Have you tried setting dual graphics or your motherboard doesn't support it? You actualy have 2 R7 GPU's, one inside the APU and the XFX dedicated one. 450W is quite low and it might be the problem. As i told you, i had low FPS problems in graphic intensive games too. I didn't noticed low FPS in all my games, just in those requiring more GPU and CPU power so yeah, indeed, other games run smooth because they don't require so much power from the GPU. I hope what i'm saying is making any sense to you.

Well I think that it's just Battlefield 4, because in Crysis 3 on High settings @ 1080p I get 30 - 40 FPS.

Darn, I thought the APU was better than that... However, why do I get stuttering on Mantle? Isn't Mantle supposed to reduce strain on a weak CPU, and put the load on the GPU?

the thing is this battlefield 4 is a buggy game i have a r9 290 and sometimes i get low fps, it can be 3 things

1: you havent properly delete old amd drivers and you need to download driversweeper
2: you need to upgrade your socket drivers
3: the power supply is not strong enough for your card remember battlefield 4 is a really demanding game so that would be the problem

if you did find this usefull please pick it as the answer :D

Stuttering in Battlefield 4 can be normal. Yeah for rushed, buggy games.....

Don't use the betas. Go back to the official 14.4 drivers.

IMO, your being constrained by your 260X graphics card. The 7850K is a good processor and more then enough to push games at medium settings.

I'm confused as to how to update my socket drivers... Isn't it just the AMD Catalyst Suite? I already have the 14.6 Drivers for my GPU; I thought that doing another install of AMD Catalyst will mess something up...

I've tried 14.4. No difference at all. Still stuttering every now and then.

Do you use AMDs driver cleaner first? Having corrupted drivers can really screw up framerates.

Yes, I always wipe all previous drivers before installing newer (or older) ones.

Hmmm... It says "Sorry, something went wrong." Broken link?

So I partially fixed the problem by using the 14.4 drivers for the GPU and the 14.4 chipset drivers. I can run Medium settings @ 1080p using Mantle and get 55 - 60 FPS 95% of the time. The other 5% of the time I get a 1 - 2 second lag spike, but then that's it. I also disabled the page file, however I don't know if this actually did anything.

Yes, I already have unparked my cores.

bf4 is a buggy mess, and they're already trying to come out with a counterstrike version of bf4....probably with their slow 10 tick rate >_>

don't feel bad, I get dips all the time into the 30s-40s in fps on 1080p ultra even with my much better CPU and GPU than yours. My bro's a10 5800k paired with a gtx 660ti got the same FPS as me except on Shangahi his fps dipped to 35 and mine was 40

you could try getting a better GPU, but, it has to be bf4 being a buggy POS because if you can play Crysis fine there's no reason BF4 shouldn't be fine

what ever happened to all those lawsuits they got over the game? >_> Haven't heard anything on those in awhile haha....I kinda gave up on bf4, it's crashed for me alot over the months, and when it gets semi stable, literally nobody I know bothers to play it anymore. I even overclocked my i5 and it didn't help much. I'm on the stable 14.4 drivers
