I notice the computer crashes if I overclock it 3.9 ghz (using AMD overdrive) and hypertransport synce flood error kicks in. But if its at 3,8 ghz it runs with no problems.

I never had hypertransport flood errors in the past when I OC to 3.9 and even 4.0 ghz before. Only recently did my computer started with this problem.

My ram is running at OC 1600mhz kingston hyperX. All voltages is set on Auto. Cool n Queit does not seem to be the problem since the rest of OC frequencies never had any problems.

Right now I'm testing using 1333 mhz default settings in the bios and 3.9 ghz on the cpu to see if it causes problems.

This hypertransport thing seems to happen after I updated the bios from MSI to A90, the older bios A80 and A85 never had a problem. If it is newer bios (which I updated 7 months ago) is there a way to revert to older bioses?

Any suggestions as to why hypertransport does that when it didn't cause any problems in the past?

then this can be linked to other components, when you game (more power usage and greater load - don't know how much 'heavy applications' is) This would be likely linked to Power supply or driver. When you overclock graphics cards, many drivers don't support an OC if it is really high, hence the reason it crashed. Not saying you have done a high overclock, just stating the likely reason for a driver.

Maybe driver though catalyst from 14.4-14.6 do get display driver stop error. But my graphics card is from Asus and is very overclockable. Its an R9 270 OC edition and I can get it to as high as 1200 mhz on the core and still is stable at 1.22 vddc. I ran valley benchmark and cinebench stressing both cpu and gpu and doesnt seem to give me any errors.

I just sometimes wish AMD made their unique hypertransport error easier to diagnose.

The CPU does support this level of overclock because i tested it with AMD overdrive stability and it determined max is 4.1ghz. And I even ran prime95 for both 3.9 and 4.0ghz and they both pass the Small FFT test running 30 mins each.

Most of the games I play dont have an issue with overclock except when it comes down to Ubisoft games thats when it causes problems. Well its Ubisoft.......
