Hi,

I have read through countless "whats the difference between eSata and sata" threads and they all are usually talking about using said port to connect a hard drive. I need to flash the DVD-drive key from one drive to another and they both use sata. All I have on my laptop (yeah, i'm using a laptop for this job) is an eSata port and I was wondering if I buy an eSata to sata cable would that work?

The program I will be using is Jungle Flasher and my laptop is a 2010 Dell Inspiron 15r

Thanks for looking!
-Neil

Yes but you will still need external power as esata does not provide power.
