Hi all;

I have this shitty old pc at work that I want to have 2 hard drives to dual boot from problem is I cant fit another hard drive in it and the one installed is full, so I am wondering if I can get an external hard drive that I can plug into the sata on the motherboard to make it easier to dual boot and install windows 7 easier.

dont need a huge HDD Id say 500GB would be fine, any suggestions?

Cheers

best bet is to guy a regular hard drive and then get like the BlacX External Dock and then either get a SATA to eSATA cable or get a SATA to eSATA bracket that goes in on the of addin cards slots and then plugs into the onboard sata and then use the eSATA cable the dock comes with to plug into there. Thats what i use for my works PC. I have two of those Docks plugged into an eSATA adater that is then in return plugged into my sata ports.
You could do that as long as its being plugged into a sata. Installing windows to a USB drive is a PITA. IF you can find like an Enclosure with an eSATA port and get a eSATA to SATA cable and just run it out the back of the PC and plug it in when you need it. I did that with my laptop when Win8 came out so i could test it out and what not.
