Should I upgrade my monitor?

I have a Samsung 244T and I am considering upgrading to an ASUS IPS monitor. Is it worth upgrading? How much of a difference will it make?

What are you trying to accomplish?

Your 244T is an excellent monitor with a great viewing angle.
I doubt that any other 24" monitor would serve you any better.
I had a pair for a long time.

If you have only one, why not consider buying a second for normal desktop work.

For me, I upgraded to a pair of 30" Samsung 305T 2560 x 1600 monitors.
When they worked, they were wonderful. Unfortunately, they were unreliable and Samsung stopped maintaining them.

You might consider a 2560 x 1440 27" monitor for the increased real estate. Very nice for games.

But, today, I would be looking at a 4k monitor. They are just starting to become available reasonably. The Samsung D590 is a 28" 4k unit that can refresh at 60hx with a displayport...

Coming soon is a ASUS PB287Q which looks to be a bit better.
