I dont know a ton about servers, but I am building one for a garry's mod server and I was wondering what kind of gpu would be best for hosting a game like that ?

Solution
Typically, servers come with fairly low end stuff (really only used for configuration). So, if your motherboard has an integrated video controller, you are good to go. Otherwise, you are wasting money and adding to your power requirements.

Also, servers are about stability and reliability. No OCing.

Good luck!
The server doesn't run the graphics in gmod AFAIK. If that is true then just chuck a cheap one in. (gt 610 or run on integrated. Integrated is better) If it could use stuff like CUDA or OpenGL/CL (Never heard of a server doing that, but I don't play gmod) then you could get a GT 650 for cuda or used 7970/new 260x for OpenCL/GL.

So it only controls physical processes like player positions or objects ? And also, I will be using a 'fairly' lower end pentium i7 for this, I would assume it is plenty because my core i5 never g needs more than 20 percent of its power total, what is your opinion ?
