You could try compressed gas(air duster). Maybe it is just too much dust in the fan area.
The fan may well be failing(by the same right, I have seen loud notebook fans run for YEARS) so it may be worth getting it looked at if you can.

I do not think you could do much aside of getting right into the unit now. Even then the fan may simply have a defect and require replacement anyway.
If it is under warranty it is best to just let Apple deal with it.

Is the fan constantly running on high or is making noises like its hitting something? Also left fan? What model laptop you have? You sure it's not the harddrive? Best luck!
