Updates for YouCam can be found here: http://www.cyberlink.com/support/youcam/patches_en_US.html

If you can find your original application, you can just reinstall it and then get the latest updates installed.

If you can't find it, don't just download it from the 'Net. There are a ton of scam sites that you are more likely to pick up a virus from than anything else. You can, of course, buy the current version of YouCam (see below) or you can use a free tool like ManyCam instead.

Open Google Hangouts or Skype (if you have installed) and your webcam (if configured properly) should present itself. Does the webcam show up properly in Control Panel/Devices and Printers?

Here are some other pointers that may help:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/update-driver-hardware-isnt-working-properly#update-driver-hardware-isnt-working-properly=windows-7

And consider the following:

Try to follow the steps below and check if it helps:

a. Click on Start, in the Start search bar type device manager and then press enter. Or go to Control Panel/Device Manager.

b. At the device manager window, please check if you see the web cam, right click on the web cam and then click on uninstall. Should be listed under "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers".

c. Restart the computer, the web cam will be automatically installed.

d. Check if the web cam is working.

Okay. Now we are making progress. The drivers work then. No worries there.

So, you are concerned about the application that allows you to operate the webcam like a camera, is that correct?

Go into Control Panel/Programs and Features. Look for CyberLink YouCam. What version do you have installed?

What version number? However, it appears that YouCam is not part of the Media Suite (at least not in the current version).

Do you have the any CDs/DVDs that came with the Samsung when you bought it?

Seems at this point you just need to re-install YouCam to use it. Ir appears (if not listed in Programs and Features) that it may have been uninstalled at some point.
