So I'm building my pc and was set on the fx 8320 but now that its time to order I'm having second thoughts. Should i get the 8350 or stick with fx 8320. Planning on playing games on ultra or high. Games such as BF4, Titanfall, Watch Dogs, and maybe witcher 3 in the future.

I am getting an after market cooler. GPU is GTX 770.
i am considering OC if it is worth it.
MOBO is Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard.

So yeah. Should i go the extra 60 bucks or am i just fine.

The difference is negligible, you can overclock it and get the same performance because in essence the 8320 is an underclocked 8350 (or the 8350 is an overclocked 8320)

with that board get the 8350 the boards not the best overclocker and at least the 8359 will come with the higher stable clock and you can go from there whats the price difference

With an MSI 970A -G46 I was able to go to 4.99973 GHz validated on a 6300, I think he can push a 8320 to 8350 levels on an Asus with better VRMs

So can the R2.0 OC just fine with the 8320?

at 60 bucks it is not worth it the 8320 will be fine should be able to hit stock 8350 speed with ease

I can say with pretty high certainty that most ASUS boards are better overclockers for the lower and medium end boards, the difference sometimes is smaller or they are behind on the high end boards but really you can't go wrong with an ASUS. I have heard that their customer support is a pain to deal with but it is bearable

I know this thread is probably closed but the price range has changed to a 40 buck difference. Should I stick with 8320 or upgrade to 8350?

In my opinion it is still not worth it. I don't even think the CPUs are binned that differently. If it was 20 or less difference I would see a reason but at 40 dollars the 8320 is the better option, you can save 40 dollars and use those elsewhere And just overclock to bridge the gap.
