APU/CPU for HTPC, videos and gaming

Looking to build a htpc based off the fm2 platform with either the msi or gigabyte mitx wifi boards.
since it would be used mainly for watching movies and streaming netflix, and occasion gaming, was looking at an A6 6400k for the price and since it will rarely be gaming, but found a bundle with the gigabyte board and a a8 5600k and cm elite 130 for $225, and a similar build without the bundle discount puts an A10 6800k at about $285, is there any major performance difference to consider the A10 over the A8 bundle? The other option is go for the A6 and wait for kaveri apus to lower.

Also I have an extra HD 5770 laying around, but has a rigged 90mm fan zip tied to the heatsink as the stock fan died so its bigger than the 2pcie slots in most mitx cases, but if i decided to replace the fan with aftermarket and get a Athlon X4 or is the A8 just as good as a Athlon X4? From what i can tell the Athlon cpus on fm2 are the same as the A8s spec wise at least the a8 6600k and x4 760k, slight clock speed difference but seems the same.

Edit: Forgot i have a sapphire toxic 5850, but seems overkill and runs a little warm, for a mitx case, but fits the 2 slot pci-e

So save money and go A6?, A8 bundle?, A10?, Athlon plus 5770? or get apu and 5770?

For an HTPC, even an A4 would be plenty. Want to game a little? The A8 would be better. I set out for an HTPC and ended up with an A10-6800k which is serious overkill, but I've been happy with it. The fm2+ motherboards are loaded with features.

I was leaning towards the A8 as i get the quad core and the in the middle price with the bundle and the A6 is only $10 cheaper because of it, and the A10 which I would prefer is quite a bit more. I just want to be sure I get what im looking for and possibly regret something. I heard from others that they regretted getting the A8 and went to the A10 but that seemed to be strictly for gaming. My friend is wanting to upgrade his 5800k and matx board to something stronger, but i dont really want the matx board and dont want to pay for it and a mitx board.

and yes the system is mostly for watching video, but better off having the gaming potential, as to build this im selling an extra gaming system that basically matches my main system as it takes my old X6 and extra 7970 from my xfire setup, which i wouldnt mind keeping but is overkill alot more than an apu for an htpc, and seems to be a waste, plus i already have everything but the board, case, and cpu.

I would not mind running the 5850 and under load with valley benchmark, in a define R3 temps got to 60-65c with auto fan profile. Only issue with this is I already have a corsair cx430m from a previous build that might not run it so well under load, and is only there for gaming purposes, the 5770 would be best but seems I could buy another used 5770/6770 for the price of a aftermarket cooler.

The other thing would be cooling as even though I have a antec kuhler 620 laying around, one of my friends is buying it, and would be using the stock amd black edition cooler, was found the cm elite 130 only has a cpu cooler clearance of 65mm, but thinking the stock cooler will be fine if i dont decide to overclock.

I know the capabilities of the them, i for some reason just feel skeptical. Probably because i know i want the a10 7850k but i dont want to pay that much. Same way of that i want a node 304 or 250d but $100 seems a little much for a htpc. Sadly i can get a A4 4000 for $20 locally off craigslist but it seems so underpowered for what I want lol
