As long as the parts are compatible with each other, they'll work with any OS.

You can check parts compatability by putting them into a PartPicker list.

That link needs a login to show. PartPicker won't.

frst thing you need to do is see what linux distro you wand to deploy or what suits your needs.
most linux distributions offer a live cd to test the distro before you install and have a tour.
when you are happy with the linux distro you want to instal you will need to see the hcl (hardware compatible list) somewhere in there website.
it will take some time to find all the pieces you want to buy but you will know that you will encounter no problems.
and if there is a problem it will be noitified in the hcl of the linux distros website.
if everything is compatible you are good to go.
its good that you are concerned about compatibility.most people rush on installing a linux distro just to find when they play music they have no audio.and there sound card is not supported.

For the most part I haven't actually encountered any sound/2D graphics/ethernet problems with any major Linux distro.

Yes all parts should be supported by default on Ubuntu. Motherboard/CPU firmware and drivers will all work out of the box.
GT610 is a rebranded GT520 (code name GF119)which is supported by opensource 'nouveau' driver.

Uses realtek 8192cu driver. Here you can see its firmware already included in ubuntu repository
