GPU upgrade problem

So watchdogs came out recently and I wanted to play it. I found my gt 620 to be seriously lacking in power so I want to upgrade to a gtx 750 ti, since they have the same wattage required.
I bought a premade desktop from acer last year thinking that it was cheaper to buy a premade one when it comes to low-med end computing.
I asked acer earlier about my upgrade and they said this

"One of the aspect is the big difference between the 2 video cards technical aspect in which the AsM3985 is suited to run at DDR3 class clock speed while the GTX750 ti is already at a DDR5 which will result to over clocking."

I'm completely on a loss because I had no idea that I have to think of that when changing gpu. So I need help if I really can't do the upgrade.

P.S. I'm certain the card will fit, I have a PCI 3.0 slot for the gpu, I just don't trust acer because I think they're just trying to make me buy another one of their premade stuff

Solution
All they are saying is that the old gt 620 had ddr3 vram wheras the gtx 750Ti uses faster DDR5 Vram.

As long as youve got a pcie 2.0 or 3.0 and x8 or x16 slot, the gtx750Ti will run OK.
the type of ram on the gpu is completely irrelevant. that being said, there can be compatibility issues between older motherboards and newer graphics cards even if the pci ex standard is backwards compatible. maybe share with us the exact acer model and you may be lucky and someone else on the forum has already tried this
