Hello, new to this board but semi-new to building rigs. I am still learning as i go and wonder what would the recommended setup be to optimize my rig for performance.
The rig setup is:

i7 920 d0 stepping
ASUS Rampage III gene (originally a [evga x58 sli LE] mobo that went down)
CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit
Nvidia GTX 760
* * The EVGA -> i7 920 -> corsair triple channel - was said to be a great combo and seen guides,
but the mobo went down and got a ASUS Rampage III. I had that setup running for the longest but this new mobo has me wondering when pushing voltages, timings sending it into a BIOS fails, then looping.

corsair h50 cooler on the cpu
corsair 950w PSU
SSD for startup and external HDD for storage

I was wondering if this anyone could lend me a hand to internal bios setups for
overclocking. I could do more and i know by now its outdated to elite rig setups
but this works for me for now.
I'll take all the bashing and criticisms, i know, but I'm just here to learn and strive to be top notch technical one day. The rig is for gaming and game development, so the power is there, i just need some guidance.
