Hey guys. I have two of these cards ready for crossfiring, just want to make sure I have adequate spacing inbetween them (3 slots would be nice).

Right now these motherboards interest me :

However these only have 2 slots inbetween and I heard the Tri-X cooler is a 2.5-3 slot cooler so the top card would be dying....

Anyone know a board like the Asus Z97 WS board (in spacing, won't ever get 4 GPUs) thats around 200$? (I heard EVGA motherboard SUCKS in terms of quality...)

Yeah checked those out, but you guys are missing the point? I was kind of wondering if there were any top notch 3 slot between boards, similar to the Asus Z97 WS Board setup, or the EVGA Z97 quadfire board.

The one I posted is one of the highest quality boards and has 3 slots between the two PCIe x16 slots...I was directly on point.

Im sorry could you link the board please? This is the RoG VII Hero, and it looks like 2 slots between the red (x8,x8) ports. The Black one (only runs x4 regardless) wouldn't be of any use for me anyhow.

My mobo comes with two PCIE 3.0 x16 and one PCIE 2.0 x16. There is not that much of a difference between 3.0 and 2.0. Also, the Asus board that @Drew010 recommended has two PCIE 3.0 slots, just that you can only run ONE GPU at x16. To get two, you have to change the BIOS to accept two GPUs as two x8 GPUs which is a big decrease in performance. A third one will be running at x4 which is horrible performance, not worth it to add another GPU.

The one that you linked is the one I was talking about. The spacing between the two main red slots is actually 3-slots, and when you put GPUs into both of them, there will be a single slot of space between the two. As for the x8 vs x16 link speed when running cards in Crossfire/SLI, no intel MOBO will run SLI at x16 unless it has an extra PLX chip. However, at PCIe 3.0 this makes absolutely no difference, and I mean literally no difference in any FPS or performance whatsoever.

I just don't understand how that is 3 slot spacing. It looks to me like theres a 1 empty space + 1 PCIE X1 slot = 2 slots inbetween reds.
Which means with a 2.5-3 slot GPU + cooler, there will be little to no room inbetween.

Anyways, I believe I have found a suitable board.

That board will work, but unless you want to space the cards out even more than 3 slots (and somehow find a 2-way SLI bridge that will go that far), it's completely pointless. The M7H is DEFINITELY 3 slots. The spacing on the Z97-OC FORCE are 2 slots. Just looking at the picture you can see the spacing differences.
