I have a desktop and laptop at home connected to wifi. both worked well until I downloaded Norton and did a total scan on my oldish laptop using Vista. it identified several risks which I deleted. I now cannot get internet, although I am connected to the wifi. have I deleted something I should not have? sue.

Is anything on the anti-virus firewall blocking anything?
Try going into safe-mode (STEPS:
1) Restart
2) Keep tapping F8 until you go to the menu of options and select boot in safe mode with networking
Then de-activate Norton etc and try see if it works then.
Do you use a wi-fi dongle?
