Hi all,
I'm a bit of a novice with this so I'll explain as fully as i can.
I had 3x 2GB of ram, it's NANYA NT2GC64b88G0NF-CG if that means anything to anyone (I'm sure it does).
One of them stopped working so I had to remove it and I was wondering what I could get to increase my ram back to 6GB or even 8GB.
Thanks for being patient with me because I know it's probably annoying as I know nothing about it.

If you buy this (like I done with crucial sticks), your performance will go up and you're getting a better performance jolt for your money in comparison to your setup now :)

Is your Windows 64-bit? (Check by right-clicking MY Computer) as this enables more than 3.5GB's Ram
You can try get two 4GB sticks.
But we need details on your Motherboard, what's the exact make so we can make recommendations to you.

You might not need to know all this but I just grabbed it all:
Mainboard : Dell 0Y2MRG
Processor : Intel Core i5 2400 @ 3100 MHz
Physical Memory : 6144 MBDDR3-SDRAM
Video Card : [strike]NVIDIA GeForce 405[/strike]
Hard Disk : Seagate ST31000524AS (1000GB)
Operating System : Windows 7 Home Premium Home Edition Media Center 6.01.7601 Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
DirectX : Version 11.00

I don't have that GPU anymore, got a AMD Radeon HD 7850

What's the frequency of the RAM, so far looks okay but this is an outline just to make you sure of it.

4 x 240-pin DDR3 DIMM slots Supports Dual Channel DDR3 1333/1066 MHz non-ECC, un-buffered memory. (16GB Max)

You also have 64-bit so that's fine.

To make things easier and fast, would you be willing to pay for two other ram sticks or just an easier method to getting 6GB or 8GB.

Personally, buying two 4GB sticks will dual channel it so it will dissipate memory bandwidths between those two sticks. Better for your money.

Whatever you think would be best for my money and will actually work is fine with me, I don't have a clue what I'm doing :p

Are there any cheaper options? I don't necessarily need to have the full 16GB or even 12GB and 8GB total is big enough for me. If not then I'll just go with what you just said :)
