Hello i'm trying to build a new computer. with the help from the graphics and displays forum i chose to buy the amd 8320 and the sapphire 280x toxic. the problem now is the motherboard.

i don't plan to use crossfire and i will oc my cpu a little with a hyper 212x. so i just need a reliable motherboard for that.

thanks!

+1 for the gigabyte UD3P

Currently on sale on NewEgg for $85 or so with a MIR taking it down to $75

I just built with that board and an FX 6350. 4.950 GHz stable, 4.8375 GHz 24x7. Great VRM and chipset cooling. Extreme LLC. Good OC features, clock, voltage and multi control for everything.

970 chipset on a quality board is fine for a single high end GPU. You only need 990FX for crossfire / SLI where you need 2x PCIe slots @ x16.

If you want a 990FX board, the ASRock Killer SR-71 linked above is also at a great price right now.

sucks that i can't find a Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P here only DS3 and DS3P. as for the Asus M5A97 R2.0, we only have the LE. i'm really trying to avoid the asus m5a99fx pro r2.0 cause i dont think i need it so at least i can get more budget for an ssd.
