im in need of help, I have been using NVidia gpu's ever since and have never had any problems with them.
I have been building my pc and I only have a gpu to buy but that is the problem, NVidia prices have pretty much stayed the same while amd cards have gone down by a lot, I game on a 50" 3dtv but I also have a dell 23" monitor all at 1080p, I plan on buying a 120hz 1440p monitor in a few months but im confused on witch gpu to buy

1- msi gtx770 gaming - R4600
2- msi gtx780 gaming - R6999
3- msi R9 290 - R6000
only want an msi

Dollar to Rand is about R10.48 so I have about $800+ for a gpu and SSD

already have:

i5 4670
Z87-g43
8gig corsair vengeance (2*4)
GS600 psu 2013 edition
NZXT tempest 410elite
1*2 tb Samsung hdd

all that's left is a gpu, don't know which one to buy, I play all games but im building this to play games like, Dragon Age 3, Witcher 3, PES 2015, Watch Dogs, etc

More about : gpu prices confused

If you have enough go for a GTX 780.
Else a R9 290 is not a bad option.

the thing is im not sure about amd but all reviews say the gtx780>=r9 290, so should I just get the gtx780 and not look back because im sure the card will make me happy or should I get the r9 because its new tech and with better drivers might become more powerful

Either card is fine at 1080p. Whilst the R9 290 is slightly lower in reviews, that is due to drivers and unoptimisation for AMD gpu. The 4GB vram is useful with the R9 290.
But the gtx 780 does run cooler and consumes less power.

The 290 will work better 1440p. There is nothing wrong with AMD drivers, this is such an old line.
At 1080p, all three choices are fine, but with multiple screens and above 1080p the 290 will be best.
MSI non-reference will be just as cool as the 780, it will use a little more power.

I am more confused now
isn't the frame delivery on the 780 better than that of the 290?
the amd card sounds like a good deal but isn't it a bit to good to be true, will I really behappy with a amd or will I wish I had stayed with NVidia?

No matter what you do those cards with destroy any game at 1080p and if you are not going to get a 1440P or higher monitor then just get whatever is cheaper, the 290. http://www.ncixus.com/products/?usaffiliateid=100003150...
