Hello,

over the past week or so my computer has been shutting down some what randomly when gaming. The screen turns black and the computer shuts down, i am able to turn it on again straight away without any problems.

Sometimes i will be able to play games for extended amounts of time without any crashes occurring. Other times the crashes may occur 10-20 minutes in. More recently i have experienced crashes when my computer was mostly idle (browser running), I only realized upon entering my room that my computer had crashed.

I have monitored my temperatures whilst gaming and all of them seem to be normal. From what i can tell (with my limited amount of knowledge) there doesn't seem to be an obvious problem with any of my hardware.

I looked into my system events and found one of the many crashes:

Solution
that hardware monitor says one thing and the bios says another i guess try another hardware monitor program and compair them... also if you got GPU-Z and and ran the log file wile you were playing the game it crashes with then you could go back and vew the log to see what it showes right up to the crash
well that's about right it should go on that ... why don't you try to reseat your vid card and reinstall the driver
uninstall the cards driver and go back to the windows generic default driver shut down remove and re seat your card hook it all back up and reboot back to desktop and reinstall the driver you downloaded from amd be sure if you use the 14.4 driver theres a folder they want you to remove before you install the driver .....

hadn't crashed recently, reseated and reinstalled my graphics drivers yesterday. Then it turned off not too long ago in the same manner, same event in the event viewer. Sooo... any ideas?

I'll give the GPU-Z thing a try, It's just difficult whilst as the crashes happen when playing intensive games. Sometimes they don't happen at all even after prolonged periods. I'll just have to try keep it running when i play.

The best thing to do is make sure your BIOS is updated, and ALL drivers are installed especially USB drivers. I had it happen to my Gigabyte motherboard, and i looked around and found if your front panel has usb drives, your computer without drivers doesn't know what to do with them so make sure your front USB panel has the drivers/ chipset driver. One last thing are the ATA drivers hardrives can cause most of the errors.
