So after researching, I thought I was going to get AMD but then I read that their cards get hot and the drivers are not good. Now I am going to get the nvidia gtx 780 or 780 ti. What are really good brands for the 780? Thank you for reading!

The GTX 770 is the old GTX 680 only ramped up to perform fast I think it is a good choice...
Asus, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI, PNY, Zotac are all good. Best thing to do is decide the amount you want to spend and see what the highest chip-set (in your case the 780 or 780ti) you can get in that range. Then check the Core clock, Boost clock, and memory clock speeds on all the models in your price range. Buy the one that gives you the most bang for your buck and has the features you want. One of my personal preferences is to have my card fans exhaust out the back of my case instead of inside my case.

How do you think the 770 is? Thinking about buying one of those for $320, and buy another one later.
