I have a core i3 currently i3 2120 which runs at 3.3 Ghz with the hd7790 graphics card But my Watch dogs lags at medium settings. However in official requirements of watch dogs my card is the recommended one. So should i buy a core i5 with this graphics card?? will an i5 increase the performance of my card?? or Hd7790 wont be enough with an i5, will it bottleneck i5??

Solution
youd be fine with the i5 then it's still a really strong cpu, although get the i5 3570 because that i5 4670 is haswell socket and wouldn't fit on your 1155 socket motherboard

The graphics card is ok, the 2nd gen i3 is kind of behind for running Watch Dogs on those settings.

You could get an intel core i5 3570k for a good price range, it will certainly increase the performance and it will reduce the lag, and it fits in your LGA 1155 socket.

Take a look:

You can get an intel core i7 too:

Wating for the optimisation patch is also has a good solution, but you should change that processor for better performance in the future.

Please reply if you need help or if you have any other question.

you probably need a better gpu. I thought everybody swore up and down that the hyperthreading would help the i3 since it's only a dual core.

I've heard of it crashing like crazy on various setups though.....was the i7 3770 or fx 8350 REALLY needed for this game to run well? I'm thinking of getting it once they iron some stuff out for something new to play. Maybe it'll drop in price too. I'm just curious too if it'll even run well on ultra 1080p with my setup, i5 3570k and hd7950.

people's statements change alot online I've noticed. One day they claim hyperthreading and more than 4 cores is useless for gaming, and then this Watch Dogs game comes out and "OMG YOU NEED AN 8 CORE/I7 now!!!!" >_>

I thought games still ran good on a dual core/quad?

I want to buy core i5 4670 so that atleast my Cpu will be future proof. I just wanted to know that my Gpu's performance will be increased with a better processer or not? I dont have enough money right now. Ill buy a good graphics card after a year. Would spending my money on core i5 now be worth it ? So should i wait and buy both Cpu and Gpu together?? Thanks

you'd gain 15 extra fps just by going to the i5, seems like the dual core i3 isn't cutting it much anymore >_> maybe now people will recommend the fx6300 over it,although it dips to 28fps itself too

I see the fx8350 beating out the i5 though.

funny because usually in games the fx8350 may beat the i5, but the i5 will have a better minimum frame rate. In this game, and who knows if it's in store for more next gen games too, but this time the 8350 beats it in both regards
