Hi guys. I'd really appreciate your help in answering this vital question. I bought Watch dogs on my pc but as some of you may know, it didn't run evey well on amd gpus at the beginning (I was using catalyst 14.4). I then found out how the latest 14.6 drivers would significantly improve performance in watch dogs but according to amd's website, the update will only work for windows 8.1 as Amd has stopped giving driver support for windows 8 from here on in (according to the driver page). Now I want to ask, is it ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY that I update to windows 8.1 for the increased performance in Watch dogs? FYI, I started running the old catalyst 13.2 drivers and it increased performance a lot, so I'm weary of changing this up by updating to windows 8.1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I see no reason not to do the upgrade now. As to the AMD drivers the AMD support page already answered that question it seems. On a technical level the updates could probably be made for 8.0 so it's probably just a decision on AMD's part to skip 8.0 support

I'm already on windows 8 and I was planning to do the update at one point anyway. But is there something different about windows 8.1 that it requires that I HAVE to update to it in order to get performance in certain games. I'm trying to decide whether to update right now just for Watch dogs.
