I am trying to extend my Wifi from my office to my house. The distance is approximately 500' down an alley with some structures in the way of a straight line. I have a Netgear Nighthawk router at the office, but can only get the wifi signal on my phone about half way to the house. Is there a product that will accomplish this or do I have to bite the bullet and pay for internet a second time at my house?

there a few ways of getting wifi to your home. one of the cheaper ways is using two older blue linksys g routers and coffee cans or small dish anti. (long range wifi for cheap). people have got wifi to go up to 25 miles for two points. a step up from that would be to put two outdoor wifi units (power over ethernet) set them up as ap points..

I also agree with using Ubiquiti products but i would not use the Unifi Outdoor AP. It is omni directional and thus is more susceptible to interference. I would use 2 Ubiquiti Nanostation Loco M series. If you do not have line of site I would not try to use 5ghz. If you have objects in between you may or may not get a decent connection at 2.4Ghz. Since the Nanostation Loco's are inexpensive you could give two of the Loco M2's a try (just purchase from somewhere you can return them of they don't work). The Nanostations are built for P2P and are much less susceptible to interference than an omni radio.
