I upgraded from a intel g630 to a i5 3570k and now my computer won't boot up. I replaced the new cpu with my old cpu to see if something was wrong with both of them and my computer booted up fine with the old cpu. Why won't my computer boot up with the 3570k?

Are you getting to the first screen? If not, are you getting any beeps, if so, what are they ( such as 1 long two short ) ? Make sure you are putting it in the right way. I had one case on a brand new build where they got in a hurry and got things together and it wouldn't run. THey answered all the questions that were asked and all was good. Only one thing left as far as i knew and asked him if they had removed the plastic cap from the processor before they installed it (...

Surprised it didn't bend the pins, but didn't and ran fine after they got all the plastic cleaned out of the thing.

I'm not getting any beeps, and I had already removed the plastic cap and put the CPU in right. I just took It out to check on it and I notice it's very hot. Maybe the fan isn't working right

Ok. They czn heat up fast and once the temp gets to certain point, it will shut down. It could be the cooler. Make sure you are using the right amount of thermal compound. You don't need much. about the size of a small pea. Too much and you insulate it and prevent the heat transfer from the processor to the heat sink.
