Hey guys.

For a very long time i've been running low fps, since i bought a new Mobo.

Specs

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3
GPU: Sapphire HD 7850 2gb
CPU: AMD FX-8120 Eight-Core Processor 3.1Ghz
Ram: Corsair XMS3 DDR3-1600 8Gb
PSU: LC Power Metatron ARKANGEL LC8850 850W

So can any of you answer me if my Mobo is bottlenecking? :)

Solution
Gfx cards don't bottleneck a CPU. It's the other way around. It's when the gfx card renders more frames than the CPU can handle that a bottleneck occurs. But that's not saying the gfx card can't be too slow for the game and it s settings.

You'll have to provide some data.
1) What do you consider low FPS?
2) What was it with the old MB?
3) What resolution now and before?
4) Same in-game settings as with the old MB?
...and most important,
5) Did you do a clean install of Windows after you replaced the MB?

Let's take Wow as an example.

Avg fps current Mobo: 42-50 on ultra (drops down to 15-25 in 25man raids) 1920x1080
Avg fps old Mobo: 170 on ultra (dropped down to 150 in 25man raids) 1920x1080

I did do a clean install of everything.

I've never known anyone to average 170 fps on Ultra in that game with an Hd 7850 @ 1080p. You must have had different settings the first time and not realized it. Is your card in the correct PCIe x16 slot?

I just did a quick check around the web for that game, and it took one poster a GTX670 FTW to avg 120-170 fps.

Everything is where it is supposed to be.
I am pretty sure i've never run lower than ultra with this rig.

But been thinking of changing my motherboard for a ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 and my CPU to FX 8350, Only problem is that i'm not really sure if my HD7850 is going to bottleneck my cpu
