Does the G10 make liquid cooling systems obsolete? Its cheaper for me to get a G10 and a H80i then to buy just the water block for the card.

Ok so with the NZXT g10 out now I have an idea. A full closed loop liquid cooled system that is covered by warranty.

System specs:
Carbide 540 case
2x r9 290s with g10s attached and h80i's
Broadwell 8 core cpu when it comes out....
H110i cooler for the cpu
64gb ddr4
1000-1500 watt psu which ever is best at the time

Solution
1. The G10 will not take an H80i. The H80i is not a round Asetek model it is a square CoolIT model.
2. Honestly the All in ones do work surprisingly well on video cards, better than they do on cpu's in fact. This is partly due to the space restrictions.
3. As Gam3r01 says you will not cool everything as well. A cool gpu does not help if the VRM's(voltage regulation modules) are heating up(the G10 has a fan for this purpose, still not the same as the direct cooling of a full cover block).

It is important to know that MANY users have gone the G10 and G10ish route for a while now. Many just leave the stock fan on the cards and turn up the speeds a bit because the lower card temperatures will slow the fans down.

While no substitute for a...
No it does not.
The coolers are sub par compared to a custom loop, the custom blocks also cover the whole card, not just the GPU on the card itself. This mean better vram and circuit cooling, better OCing.

The setup will be clunky, and have hoses everywhere, blocking airflow, and lots of noise.
It probably WONT be under warranty, as corsair says their coolers are for processors, that is considered unintended modding to them, and void of the warranty. Though it may be cheaper, its not better, nor advised. If you want to liquid cool graphics cards the right way, go custom.

While no substitute for a proper loop(chances are a custom loop will not only perform better but may well last longer too). The all in ones do come at a cheap price.

I did actually try this and got a nice 25-30c drop in temps and since the fan rarely has to run over 1200 rpm's it is not that loud(the pump is another story, but undervolted it is not too bad. Not as quiet as an H80i pump either way).

Installed Image Sure it is a bit of a tube mess, but it works :) My VRM's are not going to overheat any time soon either.
