Hello guys. I'm looking for a good laptop that I can use for school while playing games decently. It doesn't have to be on ultra. I just want a good performance to graphics ratio. I would prefer an Intel i7, 8 gigs of ram, 14", 1tb hdd, and a good nvidia graphics card. My budget is $1000 and I want to play games such as titanfall, bf4, wolfenstein, and other new games.

i7 8gb ram is out of your price range as far as gaming laptops go id look at i5 8GB and still might be hard to find for $1000 and wont run too high of fps in games if at all possible get cheap laptop for school and build yourself a gaming desktop out of parts.

Ok this laptop gets better performance but in BF4 you would be looking at right around 30FPS (not good) at 1080p medium settings. Then it would also go out of date in a year. I would still recommend desktop regardless of the laptops specs, laptops don't last for gaming and you can get a much better bang for your buck with desktops.

keeno99 dont you think the msi(they are like most gaming laptops bulky and not very easy to carry in backpacks) is primarily based for gaming? i mean i hope lemuel doesnot only plan to game throughout his college course ;).
pls do check the weight and the battery backup on the system as u for sure would not want to carry an adapter and a heavy laptop all day long during lectures.
As for the desktop and laptop thereis no second thoughts that laptops can't meet the flexibility of a workstation no matter what u do but nevermind...

link for Y510p:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-15-6-laptop-8gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-black/1310311787.p?id=mp1310311787&skuId=1310311787&st=lenovo%20laptop&cp=1&lp=3#tab=buyingOptions

as for Y410 keeno is absolutely right that the system is already outdated by the Y40 (they both are premium gaming and entertainment 14' inches systems offered by lenovo) but BUT u can go for Y510 as it supports Ultra bay and you can get an SLI config!!! but i wont really recommend that as the ultrabay accessories arent so readily available(though ultrabay SSD's and HD's are no issue)

I recommended the Y510p earlier, it's a good system but the MSI preforms a lot better. As far as weight I can see what you mean but when you want to game, you have to make some sacrifices. I would go for the MSI but if the weight is an issue the Y510p isn't bad at all.

So i watched a lot of gameplay videos of BF4, titanfall, crysis 3 played on the lenovo y410p and it seemed to run pretty smoothly on medium to high settings. (which is more than enough for me) so i've decided to go with the cheaper y410p

Ok, really sorry about this, I overlooked that the laptop has SLI 755 and 750. Really sorry about that. The laptop will probably last a good while there are better laptops but this one it pretty good, go for it. Sorry for the mixup, my bad :)
