Hey guys,
I just recently bought a budget TV from Dick Smith (Dick Smith brand). It's 55" and supports 1920x1080 resolution.

I plugged the PC (HDMI) into it as I like to watch my movies/tvs through my computer. However, the picture has a large black border and doesn't fill the TV screen.
I played around with a few settings in the Catalyst control centre (I have a HD6870 1GB btw), and I changed it from 1080p to 1080i and that allowed the screen to fill, but I don't want to have to do this.
I also tried plugging in my laptop (Asus Zenbook) through HDMI, and it runs @ 1920x1080 with 1080p!

Sp I'm thinking its a graphics card issue but I assumed the one in pc would be better than my laptop one :S

Also tried using the TV as a monitor on its own by disconnecting other monitors (through 'screen resolution', not cable disconnection)

Anyway, anyone have any ideas?

Are you using the HDTV section of the video control panel?

On a TV, if using a standard HDMI the setup is usually something like this:

1. HDTV section-> 1080p_NTSC_60Hz (or similar), then
2. Adjust OVERSCAN (should see online bars/arrows) to fix the scaling issue
