Hello All,

This will be my second official build on paper. I very much appreciate those who helped me on the first build / previous forum. This is more of a fun build that I'm not sure if I"m doing it yet. If so, it will be a gift to a family member. Most of the forums posted don't quiet fit what I I'm looking for. Let me know what you think. I've looked into the "Alienware X51" and it looks pretty good for what it has. So far for the price tag compared to what I picked out, buying it pre-build looks better.

I'm trying to beef a small form factor while keeping the price no higher then 850 with some wiggle room. That is without sacrificing for lower quality hardware.

Criteria:

  • -Budget: 850 USD with wiggle room. The lower the price the better, but absolute max of 950.
-Quality: Something that will last me a few years.
-Uses: Gaming, movie streaming, and office work.
-CPU: No overclocking at all. Intel with multitask
-CPU FAN: Low profile on CPU fan if feasible or on any other hardware.
-Motherboard: Small ATX with one extra expansion slot aside form the GPU.
-RAM: At least 8 gb ram
-GPU: Games at least playable on med-high on 26" or 40" TV) with Dual screen to watch netflix or skype at the same time. Just as previous, nice frame rate (or FPS) or no struggle on the GPU or CPU when I'm doing all of this.
-CASE: Something nice with good airflow.
-STORAGE: 1TB HD or Hybrid for gaming. SSD is an extra, but doesn't have to be there.
    -DRIVE: CD/DVD Read write.
-Upgrades: No too much of a worry.
    -USB: At least 2 + USB 3.0.
-No keyboard, Mouse, or Monitor needed.
    -OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit

    Games Intended to play:
    • Titan Fall
      Diablo 3
Call of Duty Titles (Including upcoming)
      Minecraft
      Starcraft 2
      Maybe BF4
      Sandbox games: Like Gary's Mod
      Future FPS games.

Below is what I compiled, but can't seem to push the price range down.

Thank you in advance.

Solution
Just use the stock cooler seeing as how the cpu can't be overclocked any how.

Get 1866 ram - its only a few dollars more

Get an XFX 550 power supply instead of the Corsair.

Look at reviews on everything. Google 'problems with .....' for everything.

I find it amusing that it never occurred to me using 'problems x hardware' in google. Thank you for your input. Do you think that GPU I pick can handle what im using it for?
