Hi, I have checked the guide on

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/system-builder-mara...

and while the systems looks good, I believe it will require an upgrade pretty soon. At least the LGA 1150 socket will need to improve to LGA 2011 etc. Please link to pcpartpicker for build suggestions. So far I am thinking of upgrading the CPU to i7-4930K and selecting a compatible motherboard to go with it. Also, I am thinking of bumping to RAM from 16GB to 32 GB or 64GB. I can live with a relatively small SSD for OS and other stuff and won't need more than 2TB for HD. Though the link above may be a good starting point, you are encouraged to replace everything.

Support for 4K will be a nice to have :)

Thanks to all who reply in advance.

**Edit#1 --> I gave up on more than 32 GB of Ram idea. I would like to keep slots open in any case. Please help me and reply with builds, as I am planning on completing and buying my final build as soon as possible. Thanks to all!!

**Edit#2 --> For easier checking up and improving, I include the baseline build here: http://www.pcpartpicker.com/user/acilikola/saved/rPVD4D

You do not need 32 gb of ram and i7 4930k for gaming....
The reason I have not added a CPU is because Intel is releasing a new series of unlocked haswell e processor that can overclock to 5ghz on air cooling !!! It's also 8 cores and is 400 dollars...

Hey aarnav. Thanks for the answer.

You seem to be right about 32 gb ram, one of the most ram-heavy games out is probably Planetside2 which before performance improvements took up a ridicilous ~6GB of ram and it made my current 8GB ram build go to a corner and cry its heart out. Currently the G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 will be nice with only 2 slots given. Also I have read that Intel is unable to do much with more than 1600Mhz on ram, I would be glad if someone can verify/deny this :) .

Also, about the graphics cards in your build, do they really worth the 400$/pair extra in terms of performance?

About the new Intel cpu, do you or anyone else have any information or links to these CPUs' release dates, specs and/or their benchmarks ?

Hello and sorry for the late reply

The new cpu (i7 4790k) should be on newegg and amazon in about 2 weeks....(intel claims) also about the dual gpu

The r9 290x kills gtx 780ti in 4k

As it gas higher bandwith and more memmory. U mentioned 4k support and this GPUs will let u play games on ultra no anti aliasing.. 4k is very intense as it being 4 times 1080p. I cannot clarify the ram for u sorry

Can i make a new build for u if u don't mind as i have another good idea

Hmm the 4790k sure looks promising but lets see about it in two weeks :) .

About the dual GPU issue; I wonder whether to get one of r9 290x or gtx 780ti and add the second one for 2-way SLI/Crossfire when the game industry catches up with it (or after 4k gaming is revealed a bit more).

Of course you can come up with a new build. The one I put up is just a general startup idea for the system I have in mind. You may start from scratch, use AMD instead of Intel and etc. My only concern is that in a few years time, if my gaming rig starts to have problems with playing games on ultra/high setting (not necessarily 4k -- as I said it is only nice to have), I would like to have the option of doing small adjustments to add a few years more time to the build. Like adding an extra GPU with SLI/Crossfire, improving ram, etc. And of course, although the maximum budget I can muster is $3600, the lower the cost the better. I can invest the remaining on decent monitors/keyboards ^^
