Hi I am having problems overclocking my i7 920, I dont remmeber the exact settings I used but no matter what I do once I hit around 3000hz it goes unstable. I have changed voltz settings according to guids etc.
I managed to get it to 3400, no issues with IntelBurnTestV2 it passes all the time, but then all of a sudden it will BSOD on chrome, task manager etc.
My CPU temps are under 60 so they are still pretty low so im stuck what to do. Even if I increase just a little I get issues what could be causing this? as I t cant be a heating issue as its actually still coolish even overclocked.
Update:
I got it to 3.6 ATM tested with real temp and prime95 for hour seems okay exept CPU core temps are around 65-70 stable easily jumps to 100 with prime 95 my settings...
Eist auto - for 21 ratio
Distaste disabled
C1e support disabled
Over speed disabled
CPU base 172
CPU ratio 21
Not sure how to change dram but they are on 9,9,9,24
PCI freq 100
Vdrop control low
CPU volt auto
Pll auto
Qui volt 1.250
Spread spectrum disabled.
Yeah works okay we'll seems to I just get really high temps...
