I have amd fx 8350 with msi 970A-G46 mobo.
Psu: crossair vs 550
Ram: crossair vengance 8 gb.
Graphics card : powercolor hd7750
1 tb seagate hard disk.

The problem.
The system shuts down immediately after turning it on. For a second everything works that is i can see 3 fans (cpu psu and grapics card) rotating and then it goes off.

On rare occassions the system works perfectly fine for 10 or so mins before going off automatically.

The odd thing here is the power led keeps blinking even after the system shuts down.

Please help me out with this issue :)

Do you know if its getting too hot? - the cpu especially. See if you can see when it runs for the 10 mins.

Is the pc nice and clean? No dust build up on filters and the cpu cooler? Can you turn the cpu fan rpm way up and see if it'll run for any longer?

If the cpu gets too hot, it shuts off. not the power supply.

System is not over heating. And the system is clean too...
Even during the 10 min run too the system doesn't get over heated.
I tried increasing the fan speed to max but that did not turn the system off either.

Also in my case even PSU will be off...
Only thing tht works is power led which keeps blinking.

Its not the psu (Corsair VS550) that shuts down. It's the mobo. From memory, hard drive, graphics card or cpu problems.

Hard Drive - Do a virus scan, checkdisk and download and use Seatools to check it. Do a System Restore.

Power Supply - download and run HWInfo - Sensors . Tell us what min and max readings are for 12V, 5V and 3.3V

CPU - from HWInfo - Tell us what min and max readings are for CPU package temp, Vcore, fan rpm

RAM - download and run Memtest - per instructions

Graphics card - try it in another pc. Try another card in your pc

If none of those work, then its probably the motherboard

Tried a thousand times from yesterday and have had no luck in running the system.

In all my attempts it just turns off as soon as I turn it on. :(

I could not run hwinfo or memtest :(

I checked graphics card on other sys n it works fine.

I checked psu by shorting the pins and it works fine too...

I removed the hard disk n tried to run but there was no change.

Is there a way i could test processor n mobo?

Also could this be a issue of ram ??

I tried to boot the sys with only psu mobo n HSF. The problem was still observed.

So, I coupled my psu with another mobo (intel 941g) and proc pentium core 2 duo. Everything went well for about 15 mins and then the same issue happened.
I guess since the load is low it ran for about 15mins.

So I guess its the PSU which is the culprit?

Please correct me if am wrong
