I'm trying to build my first gaming PC, won't be doing any rendering of videos. Just games and basic stuff like browsing the net and work with Microsoft word. Please forgive me if I don't understand certain things, I'm no expert :( (moving away from a very old asus laptop, that can't run many things)

I'm really stuck and running out of time, here is what I came up with so far.

SSD: Samsung Electronics 840 EVO-Series 250GB ($140 on Amazon)
This is a steal I figured, and the only harddrive I will need, got two 500GB harddrives at home.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W ($230 on Newegg)
I'm buying the K series because I want to overclock it.

CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO ($35 on Newegg)

Motherboard: MSI Z97-G45 Gaming LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard ($150 on Newegg)

PSU: CORSAIR HX series HX650 650W ATX12V v2.2 ($110 on Newegg)

GPU: ASUS GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5 GeForce GTX 770 2GB ($350 on Newegg)

RAM: I was planning on getting 8GB right now and then upgrading to 2 more sticks for 16GB later.

So this is what I originally came up with, but here's where things change.

XFX r9 290 graphic card, it looks very powerful and you get 8GB of RAM with the deal, I'm not sure if I should invest some extra money into it as i'm already coming close to my budget. Then with this card eating more power, I'm afraid that I will need to upgrade my PSU.

With everything above the r9, with the GTX770 with 8GB of ram, keyboard and a 23.6 Asus monitor, it will cost me $1,373.91. My budget is 1400 dollars. I don't know what direction to go.

(PS, I already have a full tower case and a mouse)
Please guide me, my knowledge of PC parts for gaming is very limited. I want to play skyrim on high and mod it!
And maybe finally try FF14.
Also if someone can shine some light on this for me, with my motherboard I've been told to get 1866 RAM, but also told that beyond 1600 RAM there's no difference in speed. Which should I invest for my motherboard?

Thank you in advance for all the help, no matter how little! :D
