OK I'm pretty new here and I seem to have a major problem. I wanted to update my driver for my AMD Radeon 7570 graphics card to 14.4 because Watch_Dogs and Wolfenstein N.O were crashing a lot. So I first tried to install the driver right on top of the old one, not knowing that you had to uninstall the old one first. Nothing happened so I did a little googling and found out how to uninstall the old driver to put the new driver on.

So I uninstalled the old driver and right away my resolution dropped to 800*600. I figured this was normal because I had just gotten rid of the graphics driver. So I download the 14.4 AMD Catalyst Driver and run it. Everything seems to run smoothly and I open up the Catalyst Install Manager. I go through the installation and it all seems to install fine. It says that the install is complete, but nothing changes. It doesn't prompt me for a restart or change my resolution. I have done this multiple times, have system-recovered to an earlier point and done it all again.

I am at my wits end, would someone mind helping me out?

Some info about my computer:

i5 Processor Quad-Core 3.1 ghz
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon 7570
1 TB Hard Drive
8 GB RAM

Solution
ya you run intel and not AMD chipset but with amd vid-sard drivers you get all thar ''extra'' that you dont want or need
14.4
you know reading the footnotes wolfinstine did not get any help in this driver watch dogs did not get anything from this driver and reading about watch dogs it looks like its just bad code and dont work well on anything
14.6 beta shows help for watch dog but as said it is to be used AS IS .. and nothing for wolfinstine
but yet everyone want to force this in and screw things up over a game that just play poor and risk damage to there computer or messind it up to the point of bsod .. man i dont get it
Try downloading the beta version 14.6 and see if it installs. I'm playing watch dogs and I could see the improvements after this update.
And also make sure, your motherboard drivers are up to date.

To update your motherboard drivers perfectly, click the following link and download it. It's easy to use application and will help you to keep your PC updated with the latest drivers. As a fact, I found this just today through CNET and they have provided editor's ratings too.

Good Luck!

I went and downloaded the 14 .4 driver and installed it but I did see some things that I never had to do before when installing it one thing was and it on there driver page was to remove the amd file with the amd support file in it alos I had a file that I never seen before from amd that I also removed amd it had a file in it listed as AMDKMPFD--- [I'm running a intel board so anything that was amd got removed that was not part of windows package] now why is it that when it ask to remove all AMD folders and such during the uninstall process there not being uninstalled and I have to go hunt down files and remove them my self prior to installing the new driver ??? so after all that I installed the 14'4 and so far it seems to be all good ..

you know -one more thing on this was there disclaimer on the chipset thing that they found and removed from the driver package--- why do thet feel I want a chipset driver with a vid-card driver to start with?? I really wonder how many computers they screwed up because of that ?? I run intel and there card so why do I need to get there chipset driver??? that's not what I'm there to get all I want is the driver for there card in my computer. I don't want or need there chipset driver at all... go figure

So I know SOMETHING happened. I downloaded the thing, ran it, and it found an update for the standard vga graphics card on the system (that's how it was listed) so I ran that and after some time the AMD Catalyst Install Manager popped up. I went through those steps and it downloaded a catalyst driver. After a quick reboot, the resolution was back to normal. Problem is, I don't know how to check which catalyst version I have.

Step 1: Open up the catalyst.

Step 2: Navigate to Information Bar on the left pane.

Step 3: Click AMD Home.

Step 4: Inside, uncheck "Allow Web Content".

Step 5: Click "Check for Driver Updates"

dont do auto update your just asking for issues go download the driver to a folder on your desktop and install from it

start computer as normal-- got to add/remove prograsms--- uninstall all your old cards drivers and add on programs for the card--- shut down and then reboot back to desktop normaly [ i dont like to do safemode here cause it my hide an issue ] and it should be running on the windows defualt driver to check-- go to device manager-display- right click your card [it may just say geniric vga ] install your cards drivers and and reboot as prompted. and hopefuly all will be good to go. i like to download the driver from nvidia/amd to a file on the desktop and install it from there

Sorry I was out all day. i got home, uninstalled the other driver and just installed this. The installer ran and it said it was done but it didn't prompt me for a reboot. It said it downloaded to ATI Technologies folder but when i checked it there was nothing in it. Does this mean it worked or should i try something else?

Update: I navigated to the folder where the Driver was downloaded (the extracted file) and found a chipset windows installer. I double clicked it and it said it could not be verified as a valid windows installer package. Any advice?
