Can you fit the Phantek PH-TC14PE in Corsair 300R?

I have both the components listed above and was wondering if anyone has experience of fitting the cooler into this case as it looks/feels like it will be tight?

My RAM is Hyperx genesis 2x4gb and my motherboard is the ASRock Z97 Extreme 6.

I really dont want to have to return either if I can help it!

many thanks

  1. i don't think this will fit. all 14cm coolers fit on full tower desing.
  2. Oh, I just found this http://www.overclock.net/t/1119694/official-corsair-carbide-series-200r-300r-400r-500r-owners-club/3230 where someone shows it inside a corsair 200R, surely the 300R is larger?

Conclusion: That's 1mm too much so it may or may not fit; It's going to be very close at best.

If it fits that case, it should fit the 300R as well.
  4. Hmm this should be fun! If not I may have a 300R case to sell because the cooler is going nowhere

Can I mount the cooler so the fans face up or must they be vertical?

    Cheers

I'm fairly certain you can mount it both ways:

Note that this may actually make the airflow worse and it might not even fit your case that way.
  6. Wish I had got a bigger case now :( but alas I'm going to give it a go and hope it all just works!

    Thanks for the help
  7. No problem, I hope it works out as planned :)
  8. FITS! (just) but it's just about touching the Perspex window and I'm yet to turn it all on so I'm wondering if I'm going to have vibration issues.
  9. just realised how wrong that all sounds !!!
  10.

Good to know it works to a degree.
