Hey guys,

I'm looking at buying the XFX TS Series 750W.

My build consists of a i7 4770k, GTX 770 4GB, 8GB RAM, 128 GB SSD Drive, and a BluRay drive.

I want to have the option to add a second video card for SLI in the future.

Will this PSU suffice?

If you can respond quickly, I'd appreciate it as I'm getting a good deal on it that is set to expire soon.

Thanks!

Hmm.. :(

I have no plans to overclock until I feel my system needs the extra boost. Is more than 750W a requirement or is it more for piece of mind if OC + SLI?

My budget is $60-$80 for the PSU, btw.

That's about 33% more than my budget (after rebate + S&H). :(

Regardless, I appreciate the input and I understand that I have pay to play, so to speak. Please feel to add more input as you wish.

I am sorry but I cant find a quality 850W PSU that fits in your budget it will work on 750W but your system will really push it.
I don't want to recommend 750W for you system though It MIGHT work.

What you could also do is buy a quality 850W PSU now, save some money in 3/4 months (or sooner if you have the money earlier) and then buy the other Gtx 770. A single Gtx 770 will run most games on max settings for now so you should survive those months ;).

What is it you're concerned about: the SLI part or the OC+SLI part?

Either way, I will grab it since I don't plan on OC'ing or SLI'ing in the distant future. It'd be nice if I did decide to go that route. If it doesn't work with OC+SLI when I get there, I will just sell it and used the money I get to fund a PSU that does support my needs.

I am still interested to hear your response, Computersloeber. Thanks once again.

That would be a good idea too!
Also if you want another one later just ask again on the forum we will help you out!
For PSU's never sacrifice quality and reliability over price, a good quality PSU is really important as if it fails you:
1) need to buy a new one
2) it may damage other components

Just buy it.

I just received my XFX CORE 750 today and the thing is amazing. Same 62 Amps on the 12 volt rail and the gold rating will help save a couple of bucks on electricity at essentially the same price as the XFX CORE 750 Bronze.

You are probably looking at http://www.ncixus.com/products/?sku=95616&vpn=P1750GTS3X&manufacture=XFX&promoid=1016

Shipping is $11, so it will end up being around $82 however it is an excellent price for an excellent gold rated power supply.

When all the components run under full load, sometimes in games or when running benchmark tests, it will stress the PSU a lot by drawing close to the maximum power. Also OC adds some power consumption to the total, overall I think it's safer to go for 850W.

Are you concerned that 750W isn't enough for the system even if it isn't OC'd or has SLI? Or, in the quote, are you referring to OC / SLI / OC+SLI.

This is when you will OC+SLI, for now you don't have to worry because when you are running a single card it is more then enough power for the whole system. Even when you are going to overclock.
I would upgrade the PSU to a 850W when you want to SLI.

Don't have hard facts, but imo will you be fine with a 750watt psu as long as you don't overclock the gpu's in sli.I don't see the point for that anyway, sli should give such a boost that overclocking the gpu's imo wouldn't be necessary.

From what i get out of reviews and about all use socket 2011 i7's which are overclocked, further are measuremenst at the wall so efficiency is still to be accounted for.

The highest use i've seen was 705watts with such a cpu which will use more than the socket 1150 cpu anyway.(motherboards probably too and double the ram ...)
For efficiency would you have to do some math,
705:100x90=635watts really used by the pc.
Again with a overclocked i7 3970X@4.8ghz.The cards used were already factory overclocked too.Nvidia reference cards used 25watts less per card at the wall.
The 90(%) is for a gold rated psu.
